Thank you & our next season!

The Hub Opera Ensemble wants to thank everyone who attended, built, staged, and performed in our inaugural season, as well as the spouses, significant others, and loved ones of all those people whose love and support made their work with us possible. Bringing opera to Hagerstown has been a great thrill for us, but this was just the beginning!
We are deep in the planning for our 2011-2012 season. We're working to expand our reach into new and exciting venues, bringing classic and loved operas into performance spaces both new and established. Keep in touch via this site, our email mailing list, our Facebook page, or our Twitter feed for the latest on what we're up to.
This Fall we will begin our season by traveling to local venues with Donnizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, offering both minimally staged and in concert productions of this chilling tale from the castles of Scotland.
We have something special in mind for the Christmas Holiday season, but we're not telling just yet!
We are very excited to be continuing our partnership with Hagerstown Community College, including staging the first opera at what will be the renovated Kepler Theater this coming February. What better opera to welcome everyone back into that storied space than Mozart's famous The Magic Flute, a tale of fantasy and love that is perfect for all ages to sing away those Winter doldrums.
Closing out our season is Bizet's masterpiece, Carmen. As excited as we are to be bringing you Lucia and Flute, we know from your reactions during the announcements at Cosi fan tutte how much you are looking forward to having Carmen staged locally. And we'd be lying if we said we weren't looking forward to staging this well-loved opera for you.
It's been awesome to take the first steps as the region's premier opera ensemble, and we can't wait to get our next season going. So thank you, all, for your support and your talents in the past and in the future. We'll see you next season for some insanity, some fantasy, and some amour; just another night at the opera!
